Scope and Application of the Law
Article 1This Law shall regulate the procedure of providing mutual legal assistance in criminal matters (hereinafter: mutual legal assistance) in cases in which no ratified international agreement exists or certain subject matters are not regulated under it.

Forms of Mutual Legal Assistance
Article 2Mutual legal assistance shall include the following:
1) extradition of the accused or convicted person;
2) assumption and transfer of criminal prosecution;
3) execution of criminal judgement;
4) other forms of mutual legal assistance. -
Provision of Mutual Legal Assistance
Article 3Mutual legal assistance shall be provided in the proceedings pertaining to the criminal offence which, at the time the assistance is requested, falls within the jurisdiction of the court in the requesting state.
Mutual legal assistance shall also be provided in the proceedings initiated before the administrative authorities for the offence punishable under the legislation of the requesting state or the requested state, in case where a decision of an administrative authority may represent the grounds for instituting criminal proceedings.
Mutual legal assistance shall also be provided at the request of the International Court of Justice, International Criminal Court, European Court of Human Rights and other international institutions established under international agreements ratified by the Republic of Serbia.
