  • Article 3

    Individual terms used in this Law shall have the following meanings:

    1) social economy shall mean the economy the primary aim of which is to achieve benefits for broader social community and socially vulnerable groups, rather than acquiring profit;

    2) social entrepreneurship shall mean carrying out of business activities of general interest, with a view to creating new and innovative opportunities for resolving social issues, problems of individuals or socially vulnerable groups and preventing generation and removing the consequences of social exclusion, strengthening social cohesion and resolving other issues in local communities and in society as a whole;

    3) socially vulnerable groups shall mean the groups of citizens who need additional systemic support to be capable of getting equitably involved in community life flows;

    4) labour integration shall mean work with working age members of the socially vulnerable groups on their education and training for work, as well as employment and other methods of engaging their services;

    5) social innovations shall mean new technologies, products, services, organisation models, methods of work that are satisfying social needs, with the aim of finding solutions to social issues by identifying and providing new services that are improving the quality of life of individuals and communities, through identification and implementation of integration processes in the labour market, new skills, new jobs, new forms of participation and all other methods that are contributing to the improvement of individual's position in the society;

    6) social entrepreneurship entity shall mean an entrepreneur or a legal person that has acquired the social entrepreneurship status;

    7) entrepreneur shall mean a natural person registered for pursuit of a business activity with the aim of making profit, which by virtue of its legal position may fulfil the conditions prescribed by this Law for acquiring the social entrepreneurship status;

    8) economic operator shall mean a domestic legal person registered for pursuit of a business activity with the aim of making profit, and in particular the company, cooperative and another legal person, which according to its legal position may fulfil the conditions prescribed by this Law for acquiring the social entrepreneurship status;

    9) civil sector entity shall mean a domestic legal person that is not founded with the aim of profit making, and in particular an association, association in the field of sports, foundation and another legal person, which according to its legal position may fulfil the conditions prescribed by this Law for acquiring the social entrepreneurship status.

    The terms used in this Law in grammatical masculine gender shall include the natural male and female sexes of the persons to which they pertain.
