Article 3
Agricultural policy and rural development policy of the Republic of Serbia shall include measures and activities undertaken by the competent authorities, aimed at:
1) growth of production and stability of the producer's income;
2) growth of competitiveness by adapting to the requirements of national and foreign markets and technical and technological improvement of the agriculture sector;
3) sustainable resource management and environmental protection;
4) improving the quality of life in rural areas and reducing poverty;
5) effective management of public policies and improvement of the institutional framework of agricultural and rural development.
Agricultural policy and rural development policy of the Republic of Serbia shall be implemented through the realisation of the Strategy of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Serbia, the National Programme for Agriculture and the National Rural Development Programme, as well as the IPARD Programme.
